SUMMARY ANALYSIS OF RUSSIA'S PROPAGANDA
The overall impact of using propaganda during World War 1, was very powerful and was used for countries to justify their actions, build international support, and in result also shaped attitudes towards propaganda itself. The purpose of the use of propaganda was to influence public opinion toward supporting one’s country. Propaganda ensured that the people only got to know what their governments wanted them to know, even if they were not true. Newspapers, posters, and cartoons were to only print what the government wanted the people to read. They printed headlines that were made to stir up emotions regardless of whether they were real or not. The overall effect Russia's propaganda had on it's people were most definitely effective, for the people of Russia exemplified a strong national will and extreme patriotism. This is indicative in the fact that Russia entered the first World War with the largest army in the world, standing at 1,400,000 soldiers. The more soldiers a country has the greater the devotion, support, and defense towards their country. Every countries propaganda also had many similar trends. They all mainly try to get across to the people that their cause is just, and aimed to make the public support their country in order for peace and victory, and by increasing patriotism and nationalism. Many propaganda posters called for the people to take action to support the war cause, such as enlisting in the army, donating food, etc. But most frequently many posters had been designed to make the people of that country feel as if their country was superior and more powerful than the other countries.
